Job portals like Glassdoor, Payscale, Indeed, Monster shows that salaries for Kubernetes professioanls are good in the comparision of other certificaitons, with most starting at well over $100,000. Payscale estimates the average salary for someone with Kubernetes skills as $115,000, while Monster shows that the national average salary for Kubernetes-related roles is more than $147,000 currently.
Currently, there are three certifications available:
- Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS)
Cloud-Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) use to manage the Kuberenetes Certifications. This is a part of the nonprofit Linux Foundation.
CKAD:- The Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) program evaluate and certify that certified professional can design, build, configure, and expose cloud native applications for Kubernetes.
CKA:- The Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) program evaluate and certify that certified professional have the skills, knowledge, and competency to perform the responsibilities of Kubernetes administrators.
CKS:- The Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS) program evaluate and certify that certified professional is comfortable and competent with a broad range of best practices. Professional have the skills of securing container-based applications and Kubernetes platforms during build, deployment and runtime.
The industry extensively recognizes these certificates as a reliable measure of competence.
Day by day demand is growing for Kubernetes knowledge and skillsets, getting certified as a Kubernetes professional makes a lot of sense.
