Redact PDF
Black out sensitive text and areas so they can’t be recovered. Your file never leaves your device — it is processed in your browser.
Redact a PDF
Drag boxes over anything sensitive, or search for text to redact every match.
True redaction: every page with a black box is turned into a high-resolution image with the boxes burnt in, and the original page — including the text underneath, annotations and form fields — is deleted from the file. Text on redacted pages is no longer selectable; pages without boxes stay unchanged. Always review the result before sharing.

About the Redact PDF tool
Redact PDF permanently hides confidential information — names, addresses, account numbers, signatures or whole paragraphs — before you share a document. Drag rectangles over anything you want to black out, or type a word or number and let the tool find and mark every occurrence across all pages.
Drawing a black box in an ordinary PDF editor only covers the text: the words are still underneath and can be copied out. This tool performs true redaction instead. Every page that contains a redaction is rendered to a high-resolution image, the black boxes are painted in, and the page is replaced by that image, so the hidden text is really gone. Pages without redactions are kept exactly as they were, with selectable text. Note that redacted pages become images, so their remaining text is no longer selectable or searchable.
100% private: your file never leaves your device — it is processed in your browser. No upload, no storage, no account.
